Schezwan Kung Pao style! If you like your pies with a spicy kick, you will love these, another one for your Ramadan collection. Saucy with heat and a touch of sweetness. You should definitely SAVE this for later! I think you’ll love them! Enjoy ❤️😋

Ingredients ⬇️

500 grams chicken cubed

1 onion chopped

1 tbs oil

1 tbs hoisin sauce

1 tbs dark soya sauce

2 heaped tbs Schezwan sauce or paste

5 tbs sweet chilli sauce

1 tsp black pepper

1 tbs ginger and garlic paste

1 tsp chilli powder

Salt to taste

Red and green peppers chopped

1 carrot chopped into small pieces

Green onions chopped

Coriander chopped

Eggwash

Sesame seeds

Pastry sheets

Method ⬇️

Heat oil in pot, fry onions till soft.

Add chicken, ginger/garlic paste, black pepper and carrot.

Cook till the water evaporates.

Add in chilli powder, salt, hoisin sauce, soya sauce, schezwan sauce, sweet chilli sauce, red and green pepper, mix everything over low heat for about a minute.

Leave the mixture to cool.

Sprinkle over chopped coriander and green onions.

Fill in pastry, you can fill in whatever shape you like, square, rectangle, I filled mine in round pastry sheets.

Eggwash and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.

Bake in preheated oven 190 degrees till golden.

Enjoy with your favourite sauce! 😋

I made a schezwan mayo sauce.

Add 6 tbs mayonnaise in a bowl and add about 2 tbs schezwan sauce and 3 tbs tomato ketchup, mix together.
